   I am seeking a fix for an apparent issue with wp e-commerce that becomes overloaded with multiple variations. I am needing to include several drop down options to my products such as size, color, thread color, font selection, design options, as well as a field for the user to enter his or her name for a personalized product. I cannot seem to locate anything that allows me to have the user type in their name or initials. This seems like a pretty easy request. So my two issues are:

   1) Need to create a field(s) for the user to type in a response and have it follow through to the shopping cart.

   2) How can I get the system handle multiple variations (up to 6 drop down options) without going into a perpetual update of over 1,000 variations?

   I wanted to followup by saying... my drop downs don't require any additional cost. So perhaps I can use attributes instead?

   Instructions for this are:

   1. Open Products > Attributes within the WordPress Administration

   2. Create new custom Product meta fields by clicking Add New

   3. Open Products and select a Product

   4. Fill in your custom Product meta value and copy the provided PHP snippet into your template

   I don't understand step 4. I am stuck.
