Easy question – Add New Plugin

    I am new to WordPress

    Objective:
    I want to install a new plugin

    Problem:
    The Plugin menu on the dashboard of my wordpress site
    does NOT have a “Add New Plugin” menu choice
    The only drop down option that appears under the “Plugin” selection is
    “Akismet Key”

    Question
    How do I get the “Add New Plugin” option to appear to allow me to select it so that I can find, choose and install a new plugin?
