Easing Slider "Lite"
[resolved] Easing Slider Lite Images aren't loading in IE8+ after 2.1 update (19 posts)

After updating to 2.1, images do not load in any version of IE8+ on first load. Only after the user refreshes the page do the images in the slider load. I have tried disabling all the other plugins, as well as removing and reinstalling the slider. I just get a perpetual white blank box with a black loading icon spinning and spinning. Everything worked fine pre-current release (2.1). I am not seeing any errors in IE's debugger either.

Would love some help. It is a client's site that we help manage when they get themselves into trouble, and for all I can see (despite their outdated HTML methods) things look fine within their site besides this.

http://mcculloughlibrary.org/ is the site in question.

Hi @E-Enable, I've just had a look in IE8 and all seems fine. It worked first try. Same in IE7, even though you haven't mentioned it.

Don't have access to an IE9 or IE10 install right now, in process of refactoring my virtual machines (using Mac). Have you tried clearing your browser cache?

Did you get a chance to try v2.0+, before upgrading to v2.1? Did you have problems?

2.0 Worked fine. Both myself and the customer did clear the cache after the initial failures, just to be sure, but still no dice.

Ok. That's unusual. Anyway, I've uploaded a copy of the v2.1.1 pre release version below. Give it a try, I've made some changes to the preload system that might revert the issue.

Uninstall your current version of Easing Slider then upload this one. Unfortunately, you will lose your slideshow settings in the process. If you'd like to retain them, then instead replace the current Easing Slider plugin folder with the one in the download below (via FTP).

Hi again, looks like you're using the beta and all seems well :) Going to mark this as resolved but if you're still having trouble feel free to re-open the topic.

Same issue here using IE 9.0.14 will try v2.1.1 pre release and report back. Thank you.

    Follow up:
I just tried and this does NOT fix the issue with IE 9.x slider area still displays as a white background with rotating circle.

Please advise as to next steps to effect a fix, thank you.

    Quick Fix:
Rolling back to version 1.1.9 restores slider visibility to IE 9.x

Hi Roger, did you clear your browser cache beforehand? Other users have been reporting that the fix works.

    @MatthewRuddy
Thanks, I tried that (clearing cache) on more than one different computer, using IE 9.14.x and the results were the same. I'm guessing that this might be an issue of the IE browser not necessarily following standards?

Possibly, or potentially a Javascript error causing a few issues. If you want to link me to the site I'll take a quick look.

Unusual, because it's working fine for us in IE9, more-so now that we've implemented a few fixes to the development version. Consensus was the same from the few users who were also encountering issues.

After updating to 2.1, the slider on my site (link to my site) works fine in IE8, but seems to only work sometimes in IE9. I've tested on at least four different computers and IE9 failed to load the slider 3 of the 4 times, but did work fine on one machine. Odd.

Sorry for posting again, but disregard the link to my website in my last post. My client needed the slider to work in IE9, so I have temporarily installed a different plugin. I like Easing Slider better, so I will try again once another update is released. In the meantime, my site is not a good example for testing.

Got the same loading probs in IE 9.x. Have to refresh several times for the slider to display images. Clearing cache didn't help.

chiming in with my 2 cents:

came here because of ie9 problems exactly as described, left with a properly working development version exactly as prescribed.

thanks for your work, this is great stuff.

Awesome @darrencoen, glad to hear it! Of course, there shouldn't be problems in the first place! But at-least you were able to get it sorted quickly.

I'll be releasing the official update early next week also, so hopefully these issues will be done and dusted!

had the same issue with not loading the images in IE 10 - disabled all other plugins and still had the issue. Version 2.1.1-rc1 fixed it for me.
    Thanks!
