I am new to WP but have some previous HTML/CSS experience. I've searched high and low without finding the right answers. The closest thing I've found is the Automobile theme by Templatic (http://templatic.com/news/automobile-a-theme-driven-by-wordpress) but after test driving it, it seemed pretty buggy and hard to work with.

In a nutshell I want 3 drop down menus in the left column which would display vehicle make/year/model(preferabbly pulled from mysql database). I would like the model and year choices dynamically updated depending on what the make choice is. After these choices were made I would then like the user to be taken to a specific page listing the products available for that combo. If you look at http://www.idatalink.com this is exactly what I am trying to accomplish.

The My Custom Widgets plugin will let you put PHP and HTML in a widget. You could use this to create your own menus.
