You’re the second one that reports this problem to me. Only the previous one was with the previous version. I don’t see the problem myself and also not in all the client WordPress sites I’m managing. The listing of pages in the box is using standard WordPress functions.
I’m afraid there is some incompatibility with something else. Are you using another plugin that does something with pages?
Thanks for your reply. The plugin was working perfectly until today. I have not installed any new plugins. All the plugins that I have now were the same ones that I was using when the plugin worked perfectly.
Here’s a list of plugins that I’m using:
BlackStudio Tiny MCE
Contact Form 7
Recent Posts Plus
Remove Widget Titles
Shortcodes Ultimate
TinyMCE Advanced
WP Google Maps

Hmm… no, that plugin list doesn’t look like to have a really suspicious candidate. Maybe Recent Posts Plus. Not sure what that plugin is doing.
I did change something in the pages module, but that was actually to be more strict with WordPress. It might cause the issue here. It wouldn’t make really much sense, but as you said it was working and now after the update it isn’t, it does make me wonder.
When you’re intersted yourself and would want to help me finding this issue, please send me an email: bugs at qurl dot nl
In return I’ll send you the previous version of the pages module which you can drop into the dynamic-widgets plugin install directory and see if that solves the issue.
Thanks for your reply. I’m not sure I am technically savvy enough to figure out what you are saying needs to be done.
All I know is that last week it worked perfectly. I was using all those plugins at the time, including Recent Posts Plus. I didn’t log in to my website for a few days due to other work I had. It was just today that I noticed the “Except the following pages” feature does not work.
How do I add a screenshot here to show you? It used to have a list of all my pages (about 8 of them) and now none of them are shown, i just have a yes or no option as I listed in the post above.
What’s interesting is that this problem does not affect widgets that were already placed in their positions to selected pages using Dynamic Widgets. Those are working fine. It just makes it impossible to use this feature when creating new widgets.
Is the work that you describing withe the plugin install directory difficult? Would someone like me be able to do it? I’m just starting on WordPress since January but have mastered some of its key aspects.
I should also add that I tried deleting the plugin and re-installing it. This does not solve the problem.

It’s not very technical to drop in the pages module. The only thing you need is FTP access to the WordPress installation folder. Do you have that?
Yes, I have FTP access and know how to do FTP.
I sent you a message about what you posted yesterday.
Hi Sarah… I think I know what Qurl is suggesting. To use your FTP and upload the pages_module.php file to overwrite the existing one located in the plugin’s mods folder which is found here:
wp-content >> plugins >> dynamic-widgets >> mods
Hi,
I got your message. I tried what you said with the pages_module.php file and the problem is not fixed.
I tried deleting the plugin and re-installing it and this does also not solve the problem. What can I do to make it go back to normal?
Thanks,
Sarah
I found the issue and solution (sort of).
When you have pages set as Private, they disappear from the Dynamic Widgets selection. This is why the list of pages disappeared from the options when choosing where to publish the widget.
So, what this tells me and hope Qurl can change this, is that when a page is set to Private, it hides them from the Dynamic Widgets, which in my opinion might have been an oversight. Technically the pages should not be hidden from Dynamic Widgets because if you have a page set to private for private viewing, what about widgets that need to be seen on those pages?
Basically this is why you cannot see the pages Sarah.

Gosh, I never thought about that. Good research! This will be changed, cause you’re right. Those pages should appear.
I figured it was an oversight Qurl…I sometimes have users of my themes tell me things they discover that I missed, so no worries. But glad to help out. Still an amazing plugin and I’m looking forward to your next update (as I am sure Sarah and others will be happy about).
