   I want to have dynamically created news blocks on my front page, however I want the content to come from pages not posts. My front page itself is a static page. I have a section to the site named News and I want the two news blocks to pick excerpts from the newest 2 items and use thumbnails of graphics if possible.

   Can this be done. I'd consider buying a plug-in if there isn't a free solution.

   Did you ever get this working? I'm trying to do the same thing and am new to WordPress. If you did get this working would you be willing to share your solution with me?
