    Hi,
    I am creating my website at amelienolin.net. As you can see the title of the page is duplicated from the nav menu. I would like to keep the name of the pages only in the nav menu and not have it display on the page itself when selected.

    I am a beginner at this and cannot figure out for the life of me how to do that.

    It's not a good idea to hide page name.

    Page name should be there for accessibility. While navigating the site, users should be able to know right away which page it's on. The execption is the front (first) page of the site which seems logical to not have the page name "Front" or "Home" visible.

    See if your theme comes with Custom CSS option and put this code below into it. If not, use Custom CSS plugin.
    http://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=custom+css

    .home .entry-title { position: absolute !important; clip: rect(1px 1px 1px 1px); /* IE7 */ clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px); }

    It will visually hide the home page name, but keep it visible for search engine. You should also change the name of this page to something else that's related to your site. Instead of "Home", use your site name or your product name.
