Duplicate http in link causes 503 on save (2 posts)

Apologies if the is the wrong place to post this quirk/bug:

Write a new post. Enter an a href link such as:

    http://safebrowsing.clients.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=http://software-traffic.com/

and save the draft. WordPress causes a 503 server error, and the post does not save.

    The following links works correctly:

    http://safebrowsing.clients.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=software-traffic.com

but this does not (note the trailing slash):

    http://safebrowsing.clients.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=software-traffic.com/

So I presume that the problem is caused by a duplicate http in the link, but it isn't that simple.

Setup is 2.5.1 on Linux/Apache, with very little in the way of customization.

I'm getting the same problem, this time using the same type URLs in the context of sitemaps.

I had to manually edit the tables in MYSQL to get it posted, not ideal!
