I am installing WP 2.8 on a Windows server, to the root of the domain. However, when the install completes, the setup has http://www.DomainName.com/Domainname/index.php.
Not sure how this is occurring. Would appreciate any ideas.

Check the urls in Admin/Settings/General.
Yes, that's what is odd. It shows the duplicate domain name there. When I change it back to http://www.DomainName.com and save, and then log back in (from http://www.DomainName.com/wp-admin) it logs me in to http://www.DomainName.com/DomainName/index.php again and the incorrect URL is back in the WordPress Address field again.
Well, I started over again and confirmed the issue. I am installing to a hosted Windows server on GoDaddy, to which I have successfully deployed to a subdomain. I have associated another domain name [DomainName] to this server, pointing to the folder \[DomainName].
Upon installing WordPress 2.8.1, it will immediately point to http://www.DomainName.com/DomainName/
When I edit this in the settings, and log back in, the change is made again.
Any help would be appreciated - GoDaddy says it's not their problem, and I can't think of what I can be doing incorrectly.
Thanks
When you go into the database (you should have the ability to do this through a tool they provide), does the wp_options table show the right URL?
Hi Douglas
I wonder if the spotty connection I had all last week played a part, as last night I deleted everything and started from scratch. Install went perfectly!
So thanks for the reply, and to everyone for their support.
Now, if I can just find out how to setup Automatic Upgrade.... :)
Thanks again!
