Ok, I did something dumb, sorta.

I finally was able to go live, but when I went to my dashboard, I saw that my blog addy was still http://www.myparentalinsanity.com/wordpress. I changed it to just the url to match where I had the website poitning, well from that point my site went to just posts, no structure, theme gone, can't get back to dashboard to change it back. How do I get into my panel to change this? or what files do i have to manipulate to restore order?

Sorry for 2 queries in one night, but im still pretty much a newbie to all this...

Also a bit more info, no matter what page I try to view it always just shows the main page, I went all the way to http://www.myparentalinsanity.com/blog/wordpress/wp-admin/options-general.php

And it still just displays general board. I've read a few more posts on this issue, none seem exactly like mine, so maybe not so easy fix, i heard a lot of issues about going into the database and im not really wanting to do that. So any help would be appreciated.

If you need to change the siteutl or home settings, you can edit those values by going into the database and editing them directly

or you can use my script :)

I tried your script, uploaded the necessary files, yet I still get routed to the main page with no theme :(

    youre not using it right.

You upload it to the directory that wp-config.php is in.

what is the name of the directory on your site that you have uploaded the 2 files to? And is THAT the same directory that contains wp-config.php?

Have you tried her suggestion of going at it the MySQL route?

the script works -- he/she didnt follow instructions

    1. you upload it to the same directory that wp-config.php is in

    2. If wp-config.php is inside blog/ and thats where you uploaded it to: you open:

    http://www.domain.com/blog/emergency-url-change.php in your browser.

Of course. if you dont put the right settings once you there either -- it isnt going to work.

Yep, wp-config.php is in my root directory of wordpress. I uploaded both files to THAT directory and it still routes me back to main page

    take a look

    http://www.myparentalinsanity.com/emergency-url-change.php

Now one thing that might be of note, in that root directory, I have a wp-config.php and wp-config-sample.php

    Does that have any bearing?

Im scared sh*tless of having to go into mysql...

    Sigh...

Thank you guys for your help on this, it is appreciated

Ok, one thing I caught when you said it was in blog to put that in url, well mine is in wordpress, so I incorporated that into the url like such

    http://www.myparentalinsanity.com/wordpress/emergency-url-change.php

    and I got this

    Fatal Error!

    Undefined variable: default_settings

    in /home/content/s/w/e/swebb51/html/wordpress/emergency-url-change.php, line 78.

if youre impatient to get this resolved, you can always do this:

if not, im going to figure out why youre seeing that error.

now, it goes with saying that wp-header.php is also in that directory..

    http://www.myparentalinsanity.com/wordpress/wp-header.php

load that page and wonder why your are redirected? Because its sending a 404 - not found.

Your wp-header.php is there, because you wouldnt be displaying posts were it not ..
    so .. something is fishy.

Ive dropped you an email :)

I do not have the header file in the main directory....hmmm..

I have this when I double click on my wordpress folder in my root directory I get the following

    wp-admin (folder)
    wp-content (folder)
    wp-includes (folder)

Then I got a butt-ton of php files, one of which was the wp-config.php There is no header.php file.

Does this clear things up a bit?
