DukaPress Grid Display Issue (21 posts)

I'm using DukaPress as an e-commerce solution. So far I like it but for whatever reason I can't get the correct number of products to display on the main product page. I've followed all the tutorials and shortcodes but it won't allow anymore then 6 products to show up on the page. Even if I set the modifier to 8 per page the next 2 wont show up. However if I set it to 6 per page with more then 6 products it will display the "Next page" or rather numbered link to advance to the next product page in which the missing products are displayed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (Or recommendations to better e-commerce solutions.

Also, I hate to tack onto the problems but I have the lightbox option enabled (though I would of rather used the magic zoom, the client couldn't get over the watermark) and when you click the image it goes to the URL and does not open a lightbox.

Okay so I switched my theme to the default WP install theme just to see if it worked then and sure enough it did. So that tells me this is a problem with my theme. Is there any known issue within themes that may cause the number of products displayed in a grid to be restricted to 6?

    Hello!

    Thank you for using DukaPress.

Well, technically any theme should work with our plugin. But some themes:
    a) are not wide enough to accommodate everything
    b) have CSS that works against the plugin displaying correctly

So far, the only theme that we know of that does this is Anthualpa.

Could I have a look at your site?

Hello and thank you for the speedy response!

I don't believe it's width, even on the default theme it just truncated the cells keeping all of the product but sacrificing the columns.

Perhaps it is in the CSS though. I could def use a second set of eyes on it, and a professional none the less :)

    To be specific:
    http://rescuebands.com/?page_id=183

And I assure you per the website documentation I have followed all of the available instructions, as I mentioned it works fine in the default theme, also I used the inspect element feature per Chrome (and firebug) and was able to make it work in terms of the width just to again make sure it wasn't the width.

    Thank you!

Right now it is set up for more than 6?

Yes here is the short code verbatim:

    [dpsc_grid_display category=”3” total="8" column="2" per_page="8" type="duka" order="DESC"]

Ultimately I want that to be 4 columns with 12 per page but for test purposes I just matched the amount of product currently uploaded.

    Weird, never seen this before.

Could you put 8 total but 4 per page?

Just to check: does the category (ID=3) have more than 6 products?

Changed it to 8 total 4 per page. Now the second page link popped up but it still displays 6. The remaining 2 and a few from page 1 are on page 2...

    Category 3 (Rescue Bands) = 8 products

To be honest, I have no idea why this is happening. Let me do some research, and tinkering. I'll get back to you.

What version of DukaPress is this btw?

    What version of WordPress?

The most recent of both. I always stay up to date.

Thank you very much. If it's any help at all I will reiterate that the products showed up and displayed properly when I enabled the default theme versus the current.

    Thanks again.

Btw I switched it back to 8 total 8 per page, let me know if I can do anything to expedite your research.

Okay so I deactivated DukaPress so I could work on another e-commerce solution and now the whole site doesn't work unless I reactive DukaPress...

What do you mean b the site doesn't work? What kind of error are you getting?

Technically this cannot happen. There is nothing at all inside DukaPress that can make this happen :(

I'd say the problem lies elsewhere.

    Yo Mosh, question.

How does DP handle PayPal transactions? Does it exchange within the site or does it actually go to PayPal?

    It redirects to PayPal.

Dang... do you know if that's changing at some point? In-site checkout is a total game changer, I would be singing praises to DP if it could do that with PayPal.

We'll work on this but I cannot give a firm deadline.

The good news is that a WordPress developer could easily integrate it for you. :)
