• For some reason I’ve discovered that this install of WP (maybe all?) actually replaces uploaded images with new images of the same name. So when I create Post-1, and upload “Picture 1”, then create Post-2 and again upload a new and different file also called “Picture 1”, now both Post-1 and Post-2 will display the latest upload of “Picture 1”. This is a problem! Any pointers would be appreciated!

  • That’s not a WP issue, sorry.
It is the basic behaviour of any normal webserver. You can NOT have two files with identical names on it in the same folder.

(Actually, even your own computer would override the files if you try to save a file on it with an existing name!)

Clearly, but I would expect the WP upload script to automatically rename uploads to a unique filename. Can this be implemented?
