Conditional Widgets
Dsiplays why the widget is being hidden.. (6 posts)

    When I tell a widget to be hidden.. or displayed, I get a message above the widget, or where the widget would be that says why the widget is being hidden/displayed.

    When it is set to display, it says -
    Showing because front page:

    When set to hide, they say -
    [Widget hidden because front page.]

    Any suggestions?

    That's because you have WP_DEBUG on, which shouldn't be on in a production environment.

    OK, WP_DEBUG shouldn't be on in production, but once in a while I need it & since you can log the errors iso showing them, it's OK i guess.

    define('WP_DEBUG', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false);

    could a safer test be to check on the WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY as well?

    Veerle:
    I'll take a look at WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY, that looks like a great solution

    Version 1.6 uses WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY and has more helpful debugging text when used.
