    Have you tried displaying none the 3rd level menu when the 2nd level menu appears? You could then display the 3rd level menu only when the 2nd level menu item is interacted with.

    #nav ul li:hover ul.sub-menu li ul {
     display: none;
    }

    #nav ul li:hover ul.sub-menu li:hover ul {
     display: block;
    }

    Ok..can you tell me where that goes exactly? this is my submenu hover code..

    #nav ul li ul.sub-menu li a:hover{
    width: 200px;
    padding:5px;
    color:#ffffff;
    background:#B92604;
    font-size:10pt;
    text-transform:none;
    border-bottom:1px solid #ffffff;
    }

    #nav ul li:hover ul.sub-menu,#nav ul li.sfhover ul.sub-menu {
    left: auto;}

    it's not quite the same as yours....

    or, sorry, did you mean add this code in with what I already have???

    sorry...I hate to be dense. =)

    Is that your theme, or one you've downloaded?

    It's a custom theme she's purchased....

    It would be best to work on a Child Theme, or use a Custom CSS plugin to handle your CSS changes. Otherwise you're likely to lose your changes once the theme updates.

    Remember, commercial themes aren't supported by WordPress forums.

    I don't believe the theme will update....the company who made it is no longer updating...

    Ok..I installed the custom css plugin and added your snippet of code above, and it almost works, but the indent disappears and it covers the second button.

    thoughts anyone?

    What about using the left CSS property, within the selector for the third menu?

    I'm sorry....I've searched. =) I simply don't know where the selector for the third menu is...

    I only have one group of submenus....should there be a secondary sub menu? (don't leave me!)
    =)
