Dropdown Menu not working in WordPress (15 posts)

    the drop down menu on http://lasvegas.informermg.com/ isnt working correctly. I am able to get it to work when i use Firebug to remove the element.style of visibility: hidden and display:none; then the menu works.

    But I can not find in any of the files where to edit it so it stays this way. Tried all the .css files and the .php files

    <ul class="sub-menu" style="display: none; visibility: hidden;">

    is what it looks like when not working and when i put

    <ul class="sub-menu">

    it works fine. but again i can find where to make that change and set it permanently, since its element.style i dont think it is in the css and i have looked in the header.php but this is all it has

    <div id="menuwrapper">
            <ul class="mainnav dropdown">
                <?php
                if(of_get_option('of_nav1') == 1) {
                    wp_nav_menu( array('theme_location' => 'primary', 'container' => false, 'items_wrap' => '%3$s'));
                } else { ?>
                    <li <?php if(is_home() ) { ?>class="current-cat first"<?php } ?>><a href="<?php echo home_url('/'); ?>" title="<?php bloginfo('description'); ?>"><?php _e('Home','snapwire'); ?></a></li>
                    <?php wp_list_categories('orderby='. of_get_option('of_order_cats') .'&order='. of_get_option('of_sort_cats') .'&title_li=&exclude='. of_get_option('of_ex_cats'));
                    wp_list_pages('sort_column=menu_order&title_li=&exclude='. of_get_option('of_ex_pages'));
                } ?>
            </ul>
        </div>

    so again not seeing where to make the change.

    Any assistance would be great.

    You can ask the guys who made that theme http://forums.gabfirethemes.com/forum.php

    Problem is i was hired to fix it so right now i don't have access to the forum. I asked them for their credentials but am waiting for that so i asked here in the mean time.

    We don't have access to commercial themes, so we wouldn't know how they operate.

    By no access, I mean the theme is not within the WordPress.org theme repository.

    Oh okay. Can you leave it open just in case someone has an answer

  6. Edit: Beaten to it by Andrew.

    We don't have access to that theme (do not want access either) so we cannot answer that question.

    Until you can ask the vendor for support there really isn't anything to do.

    Hi,

    @nicholasdarley
    I'm having the same issue as you did, and I see that you fixed your menu, can you help me out an tell me how did you do it?

    Thanks upfront.

    @draganam - posting in an old thread (about a theme that is not supported here) is not a good way to get help on these forums - please start your own thread.

    @draganam

    What theme do you have? I figured out that it was a issue with a update to jQuery that was put out recently.

    Snapwire. Did you download the new one? I didn't do any new updates... so confused. Is it possible for you to send me a link or a jQuery file?

    Thanks so much.

    I made it work by erasing some code from Superfish.js (and I know htis isn't the right way) but it is broken in Chrome and Safari, it wont pull up.
    Here is the link:

    Thanks again for your help!

    Ok, I made it work in all browsers now... I think... :)
    Just in case anybody else gets similar problem here is what I did:

    In file superfish-1.4.8.js I changed
    line 104:
    .find('>ul').hide().css('visibility','hidden');
    to:
    .find('>ul').hide().css({visibility: "hidden", display: "none"});
    and
    line 112:
    .find('>ul:hidden').css('visibility','visible');
    to:
    .find('>ul').css({visibility: "visible", display: "block"});

    Thanks for the help.
