[resolved] Dropbox Simple Upload; Error: File was not uploaded from your computer (5 posts)

I receive the message Error: File was not uploaded from your computer, when trying to upload a file to Dropbox using the Dropbox Simple Upload plugin. Can anyone suggest what might be causing this issue?

I have installed the Dropbox Simple Upload plugin to a band new WordPress install(3.4.2) (no other plugins installed) and have successfully authorised my dropbox account.

I have inserted the shortcode [simple-wp-dropbox] into a page and the upload box shows up and I am able to browse to a file. However, regardless of the file size or type, I have been unable to actually upload a file. All the file types tried are specified on the plugin settings page.

    Any suggestions very much appreciated.

The reason its saying it can not be uploaded from the computer is likely that the folder that is set as the upload destination on the host is not writable and needs to be set to 755 or 777 depending on your host.

Thanks very much for the speedy response, much appreciated.

I have changed the folder permissions to 777 and that has now allowed the files to upload to my sever, which they were not doing before.

However, after clicking 'submit' the page on my site refreshes and it is blank, except the page title. No text, no upload box, no comment form, nothing. And the file is not uploading to dropbox. Do you have suggestions as to what is causing this / how I can fix it?

    Many thanks again.

Sorry for the late reply... Try changing the setting in the admin to CURL and click submit.
