Drop-down navigation with subheadings

I’d like a drop-down menu in the style of argos.co.uk or johnlewis.com – where the drop-down is split into sub-headings.
I can’t get it straight in my head how to acheive this. Any ideas?

I’m currently using the Thematic framework.
