Drop down menu not working (and hiding behind main items) when in IE7 (5 posts)

I have started re-working my portfolio site http://www.morgainefordworkman.com/portfolio . I am using the theme: Shaken Grid for it. Basically my issue is the dropdown menu works fine in Firefox, but doesn't work and hides behind my main page items when viewed in IE7.
Now I know the bare bones of HTML/CSS and have been just playing around with WordPress in hopes to learn things, so be kind with me-as I know very little about all this coding. Does anyone know of an easy fix and/or where to fix it?
I know that dropdowns tend to be an issue in internet exployer, so maybe someone out there knows how to fix this and where to fix it.
    My site is:

I hope someone can help! Also, the default type in IE7 is bleh! I prefer what is shows in Firefox. Anyone know where to change that too?
    Thanks!

    IE7 treats stacking strangely

try adding z-index:2; to #header and z-index:1; to .wrap in your style.css file

I tried adding the above mentioned z-index tags to the header and wrap, and it did nothing. ;(
As far as the conditional comments...I have no idea what I'd need it to say (I'm a newbie here)
