• Having a problems accessing the Dashboard and any other admin functions…

Get a solid error 404 with every attempt (generated in a actual theme window) …. Site is running clean on public side, I can login to site and it shows admin bar at top, just totally locked out of any and all admin functions, everything returns:

    “Error 404 – Not Found
Sorry, the page that you are looking for does not exist.”

    WordPress is updated and current..
Suffusion theme is updated and current…
    Tried disabling plugins, no joy.
Tried working with .htaccess file, no joy.
    No clues in error logs.

Only have FTP or cpanel access to files and site so any admin generated functions fixes through dashboard are not going to work…

Public side of site is : http://mariposamuseum.com

    Thank you in advance!

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

I’m sorry but I have ties all the obvious solutions you mention…

NO JOY, with all the solutions I have tried or read up on in dozens of troubleshooting blogs and forums…

Have about 3 days into this problem and all files and all themes are fresh downloads and moved into server director with FTP…

    Thank you anyway…

I had a similar problem like this just because Parallels Plesk Panel was set to an older version of PHP – it just refused to upload any image.

Not sure if that’s the cause of the problem, though.

Did you move this site after WordPress was installed?

Nope… It’s still in root directory where it was installed many years ago…

Maybe a little clue here but site only goes into error and no access to dashboard when one invokes “wp_admin” or “wp_login”…

Seems to be missing a file bit have not a clue what the may be…

Error logs are not showing any activity…
