Our small group has a site hosted at hostgator with a wordpress blog the site address is http://www.justyork.org , Due to lack of finances and time to upkeep the main site we want to drop the main site and just have a wordpress blog (which is free ?) but to keep the same domain name . Is this possible ?

Yes. You can have any type/amount of information on a site. Do you own the domain name?

Yes we have the domain name and it is on our leaflets and other info so we dont want to change it

Point the domain name to justyork.org/blog and you will be set. You can redirect http://www.justyork.org to justyork.org/blog
Or for a cleaner set-up move the blog into the root directory and the address will be http://www.justyork.org/
