   Have not even started. But want to verify first, which is best to download:
   DOWNLOAD.Zip or DOWNLOAD.Tar.Gz?
   I already plan to host the blog on my own server where my http://www.danscartoons.com is located and will provide visitors a link to my intended blog with a text hyperlink on that index page. So to start, which download is best?

   Doesn't matter. Both will give you the same WordPress.

   If you have a windows machine that you'll be uploading the files from the zip is probably best but if you going to be uploading from a linux machine or will be downloading the files straight to a linux server then the tar.gz is probably your best bet.
