   In trying to decompress the zip folder for WordPress downloaded to my hard drive I receive the error message "The Compressed (zipped) Folder is invalid or corrupted." I'm stymied

   Download another copy and try it again. I just unzipped it with no problem. Are you sure you downloaded the .zip and not the .tar.gz file the first time?

   Might also look at using 7-zip. Seen problems with Vista and extracting zip files.

   I tried downloading zip file again to Programs folder on hard drive with the same result. I then downloaded directly to the hard drive and it worked fine. Dah! Thanks for responding.
