download manager

Hi all, can someone tell me if there is a way to keep up track the number of downloaded items (i mean the files uploaded via the wordpress admin interface in Manage-Pages)? i have made a search on “download manager” but the topics filtered by this search are not the ones I need.

I would like to use WordPress as tiny snippets repository, which other plug-ins do you suggest?
