Support » Plugin: SlickQuiz » Double or single quotes causing all data to be lost!

  • We’re having a problem saving the quizzes, which we don’t remember having before.

Whenever any double or single quotes are added to the quiz data, saving as a draft or publishing a quiz loses everything we’ve just added!

    What could be causing this?

We have some older quizzes that have quotation marks in them, and they seem to have saved fine, but if we re-save them all the data gets lost in those too.

    Any ideas?

@pixelkicks – I’m sorry to hear that! Did you recently update SlickQuiz or install any other plugins?

The only plugin we think has recently been installed is “iThemes Security”. Have you seen or used this plugin before?

It has a whole host of different security options. We’ll try disabling it and see what happens.

Just tried de-activating it, but it didn’t make a difference 🙁

There may be some kind of error on the form page, can you follow these instructions on one of the quiz edit pages (note: you won’t need to try submitting):

Check your browser’s Development Console for errors. Click here for instructions on how to find to this panel in your browser (Note: if you’re on a Mac, use the Command ⌘ key in place of CTRL). Once you’ve got it open, look for anything in red – it will all look pretty foreign, but if you see anything in red, scan the text for keywords that might indicate the plugin the error is coming from. Try disabling those plugins and then see if the quiz loads.

If there is red but nothing stands out, please copy and paste or take a screenshot and share that here.
