Support » Plugin: WordPress Gallery Plugin - NextGEN Gallery » Don't waste your time!

  • Hi everyone, I was pulling my hairs for the three last days trying to make NextGen Gallery works on my website. I don’t particularly like the interface (I find it to much complex) but it offer the ability to manage images in gallery and album which is great if you are handling large number of photos. HOWEVER it is impossible to make the lightbox works online ever if I had double checked that the links to .js which are correct. By the way, I wonder where the effect .js path are stored exactly, I neither find them in the database nor in the files content.

    I noticed a problem concerning the following statement in the code (\wp-content\plugins\nextgen-gallery\products\photocrati_nextgen\modules\nextgen_basic_gallery\templates\thumbnails\index.php)
    <?php echo esc_attr(stripslashes($image->description . “a”)); ?>”
    It is badly interpreted by my remote server (although set to PHP5) and causes the div statement to stop sudently just after data-description: “data-description>” then the class statement is skipped. Removing this line or forcing the class “class = ngg-lightbox” in the code don’t make the thing works better so I give up and don’t want to waste more time on this plugin… as many other users (just type “NextGen no lightbox” in google and enjoy the feedback).

    PS: I just notices through the other comments and the web there is a pro version, I seems to be the best joke I never heard in my life !

    @dom38 – Thanks for taking the time to write a “review” but this seems more a report of an issue and would have been better posted in the general support forums … but in this case, I would also recommend you submit a Bug Report (http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this review) so we can help sort out this issue with you as it seems rather unique in the way you are describing it.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.
