hey folks. installed wordpress but don't have install in wp-admin. just have install-helper. can somebody advise? was suggested I download the new wordpress. brand new to WordPress so not sure how that would override the wordpress I already have. think simpler to continue with version i have no? & find the install file. what do you think?

I still think the best way is either the manual installation from FTP or the proven auto-installer script such as Softaculous

cheers Richard. i've followed the manual intall using Filzilla. i just get stuck when it comes to the part where you have to access the install.php which i don't have in my wordpress folder and don't know why.

The install.php script will be in the root of where you installed WordPress. If you do not have the file, I suggest downloading WordPress again and starting over by uploading the files. I hope this helps!
