domain migration from WordPress.com (2 posts)

I started with a WordPress.com free site. I anted up a few bucks to WordPress.com for my own domain name, let's say http://myexampleblog.com, to use rather than http://myexample.wordpress.com.

Now I'm moving up to a WordPress.org installation on my own server site. I've installed in a subdirectory of the main one for my own other main site: myexample.net/blog.

So using http://myexample.net/blog opens up the new WordPress.org installation, but I'd like to be able to use http://myexampleblog.com as the URL instead...I own it after all.

I did a whois search and found that myexampleblog.com is registered at wildwestdomains.com but their website doesn't say anything about domain registration support.

How do I get the myexampleblog.com domain name to point to the new installation?

    See the instructions here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/

There is a section Moving from WordPress.COM to WordPress.ORG and how to remap the Domain.
