Domain Mapping vs. Single Installs (2 posts)

I have a network of sites that I'd like to convert to WordPress. I know that domain mapping would be the way to go in order to make updating and installing plugins easier, but I might want to sell one or more of the sites one day.

Are there any potential problems with peeling off a domain-mapped site and then installing it as a single install?

I'm wondering how data gets stored in the database. The actual URL would look something like this: site1.mainsite.com. So when I transfer it to site1.com as a single install, would I run into any problems?

    Thanks.

Not really, but moving the site DESIGN can be a beast if you use a lot of customization in widgets etc.

Moving the DATA is dead easy. Export/Import/Pizza.
