I successfully installed WPMU with sub-domain but I don't know much about domains. Can anyone help me understand how to use the Domain mapping plugin? As in exactly what shud I give as Cname..etc

    Example:
    I have a website at lib.abc.edu
I created a new site from user screen, than how shud I populate the fields of New Domain form, if I want:

m.abc.edu to be redirected to lib.abc.edu/m or something similar.

Also I am using IIS 7.5 and Win Server 2008 R2.

@Ipstenu: I already read this link and many other pages but can't get it work. I basically want to know the settings for DNS and cname and other domain related terms.

Hey I finally setup a Wild card DNS on my server. Now I want the domain mapping thing to work. I am not getting with the tutorial at http://ottopres.com.

    I want something like:

A newsite has a domain new.subdomain.edu. What should I do so that when a user types in the URL it gets redirected to a page abc.subdomain.edu/somedirectory?

Also when I create a newsite after logging in as network admin, it gets added. But when I visit it, it redirects to the IP address of my server. I have another website stored at my server.

I can never view the sites which I add.

  5. But when I visit it, it redirects to the IP address of my server.

Did you happen to set up your domain mapping to point to that IP?

@Ipstenu: I think its something with the DNS as even removing the IP from domain mapping would redirect the sites to my server's IP. I tried with anything.subdomain.domain.edu and all redirect to server.

  8. But you haven't set your install to answer to the IP address.
