• Hi my name is John and thanks for sharing WordPress.

    My problem is:

Say i have an regular host account on a server like “www.mydomain.com” and then i installed sucefuly wordpress at “www.mydomain.com/wordpress”. It works ok.

Then i registered a new domain like “www.mynewdomain.com” and want it to point to my original wordpress folder, the “www.mydomain.com/wordpress”.

All DNS is been set and its working fine if i access directly like “www.mynewdomain.com/wp-login.php” or “www.mynewdomain.com/info.php” (a file i manualy put there to test). Those work ok but if i try to acess “www.mynewdomain.com” only or “www.mynewdomain.com/index.php” its redirecting me back to my main page at “www.mydomain.com”.

Does anyone know where/how i fix this? Any opinions or questions are welcome.

    Best regards,

    John

You don’t “fix” this. You need to determine which place you want the site to be at. One or the other. Having it in both places creates a “duplicate content” problem, which search engines hate and mark you down for.

Pick which location you want it to be at, and set that as the URL for the site on the main Settings screen.
