Dokuwiki & WordPress's 404 Handling (7 posts)

    Hi everyone,

I'm having a problem getting dokuwiki to work with wordpress running on the same domain.

My wordpress blog runs on the domain root, http://www.mydomain.com/
    My dokuwiki runs on http://www.mydomain.com/wiki/

The problem is, the wiki needs 404 handling to be disabled else, it is unable to create new pages.

For instance, if I visit http://www.mydomain.com/wiki/whatever.php it gives me the WordPress 404 error template, but I need to have that disabled in the wiki directory in order to use dokuwiki's "create new page" function.

Can someone advice? Been looking around the internets for sometime now and I haven't been able to find a conclusive answer.

    Many thanks, and happy holidays!

  2. Move wordpress to a subfolder off root and use the directions from the codex to make it act like it's in root. Your conflict will heal itself :)

    Thanks Ipstenu,

Surely there's another method? Its pretty inconvenient for me to move everything around again :-(

  4. There may be, but having wordpress in a subfolder will remove a lot of other potential conflicts. Also, you'll be able to make more than one blog, if you want to test things out. The moving of WP to a subfolder really is pretty fast and easy. Takes all of 10 minutes :)

    Okay just moved everything accordingly.

wordpress works fine in a seperate directory (phew), but its still controlling http://www.mydomain.com/wiki even though the wordpress directory is at http://www.mydomain.com/wordpress.

The blog address is still http://www.mydomain.com
