Doing anything in the admin redirects me to the homepage! (6 posts)

I'm going to start off by saying that I can not at this point upgrade to 2.7.1. My site is a very custom build it has been working perfectly fine for almost 2 years.

I can not do anything in the admin section that requires me to save or update. If you I click on anything that saves, updates, posts, etc... I get redirected to the front end homepage of my website.

I have noticed that when you click on save for a post the URl changes to something like:
    http://www.DOMAINNAME.com/wp-admin/post.php?action=edit&post=407&_wp_original_http_referer=http%3A%2F%2FDOMAINNAME%2Fwp-admin%2Fedit.php&message=1

Not sure but maybe this redirect code is not being added to the url on submit. Just a idea not sure though.

Please any help would be great!

    Thanks in advance!
    LK

Check the values in your tools > General > WordPress Address and Blog Address section to make sure they are correct.

Also, download and view your .htaccess file and check to see if there are extraneous redirects in it. Don't modify the section that is marked for WordPress or it will break the site. If you d modify it keep a copy of the original .htaccess file in case your changes break it.

I posted a solution to a similar problem here. It may not be the same situation, and it may not help ypu, but just in case:
