• More and more I see developers of plugins and themes ignoring the forums of their products and then they don’t support their product because no one makes contributions, duh. Or it’s always the other guys fault. It’s pretty obvious to most anyone why contributions fail. As stated this plugin does not work with some themes and will break their plugins. They do not respond to forum requests. So the old business model is still the only one that really works. Pay for service which is fine with me it’s just too bad this young generation hides behind this open software model that does not provide reliable working software at all. Of course there are always exceptions but not here. This is why Microsoft, Oracle and all others will always kick the arse of the Open Software model. I’m afraid the emperor has no clothes.

That was lengthy and a little off topic. I see that you’ve posted a support request yesterday for this plugin.

As stated this plugin does not work with some themes and will break their plugins.

So have you done any work to identify what’s causing your plugin or theme conflict? From your review and support post it looks like you don’t have a problem with this plugin as much as you do with other plugins and this plugin.

Lengthly and off topic? hardly. Factual, absolutely.
If you read the post you would see that I posted the debug information from the plugin as requested by the developer and no one responded. So did I try and do anything to determine the problem? Is this plugin the problem? Is it someone elses theme or plugin? Isn’t that the point of a forum and the developers that should participate in it. I might point out the percentage of no responses on this forum is extreme if you look through the posts.

I wrote this plugin almost 3 years ago and provided support and updates continuously for a long time. I own my own business and time is money. I simply can’t justify giving all my time away simply because I wrote this plugin for the public.

I only came here to tell you that I don’t understand your logic at all. I have my own life and things that I want to do with it. I should be allowed to.

I will be updating the plugin soon but I will not be supporting it for free. Especially since most requests come from people who don’t understand how to thoroughly troubleshoot their problems. I am not here to figure out your problems for you for free.

Thanks for justifying what I said. I posted two months ago and you are just now getting around to responding! You are a joke. You are what is called a FAIL. I don’t use your plugin anyway because it does not work and it is a FAIL like your excuses. Best of luck to you. If you run your business like you ran this plugin you will be closing your doors next week.

    You’re pretty dense.

I stepped away from the plugin for the last 4 months because I’ve been under contract and have been too busy to do anything else (especially give away time for free, because that’s totally a reliable business model). You can see the commit history on Github: https://github.com/Mvied/wordpress-https/commits/master

You have no idea how much time I’ve spent developing and supporting this plugin. I guarantee it’s a lot more than many other plugin developers. I’ll support it and develop when I have time. I’m actually about to push out version 3.4 I created back in March but never released for WP 3.6.

I have chosen not to create a business model around this plugin because I don’t have time to do it correctly. Contract work is more enjoyable and straight-forward. I also don’t have to spend hours on support forums. I’m a developer and I don’t feel like doing that. I like creating awesome stuff in the web, not walking through the FAQ repeatedly.

At some point in the future I may provide premium support for the plugin, but it will be contracted out to other developers.
