Does it work only for posts?
I have a website only with pages, because its not a blog or anything like that. Its a companies website.
Does it need some time to appear on search results once set up?

as far as I see. it actually works not only per post, but per any singular public custom post type.
You can always test with Google's "Structured Data Testing Tool" how Google will display Your content http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets
