   This theme does no seem to work with the supported widges in WordPress. Are you actually suppose to put every singel widget in to the code manually?

   I just installed that theme, added, via Administration > Appearance > Widgets, the Pages, Archives, Meta, and Tag Cloud widgets. Experienced no problem.
