   I'm configuring a new site to host 5 different WP sites on *separate* domains.

   If the paradigm of WPMU is going to change significantly with Multi-Site, then I should probably wait for (or expiriment with) v3, rather than get stuck converting everything.

   So my question is.. With WP v3 and the new "Multi-Site Network", will the current method of doing multiple-domains (for example, requiring Multi-Site Manager) be deprecated?

   In other words, using a clean WP v3 install, will I be able to setup one separate site on separate domains (mysite1.com and mysite2.com), *without* a plug-in?

   You'll still need the domain mapping plugin.

   The current multi-site plugins were for making the extra blogs have the ability to have member blogs under them. that's what the difference is.
