Does the pingback setting delay posts?

    Does the pingback setting delay posting, if the URIs are not the type that support pingback?
    After trying to publish an article a few time it appeared that the server had hung, but after unticking the pingback check box, the response was almost immediate. Is pingback the reason why?

    yup pingbacks do delay posting procedure. but u will notice that even though the posting procedure hangs, the post is posted with no problems. maybe because the pings are done after posting the data in the database! 🙂
