  • WP Edit is basically a replacement for the built-in Tiny MCE editor. This free version has some potential but it’s probably not worth going to all the effort to install on top of Tiny MCE.

Where I see a huge difference is in the PRO version of WP Edit. The extra functionality and time saving features it brings, is worth paying for. I personally think the price is a little steep at the current $35 but you only have to buy it once, so the cost becomes less the longer you use it.

If you’re thinking about getting the pro version, you should install this version to get a feel for it.

In summary, WP Edit is not bad, it just doesn’t offer much more than you already have. If you want all the bells and whistles, you going have to buy WP Edit Pro version.

Thank you for the review 🙂

I still think everyone is “comparing” this plugin to it’s older predecessor (Ultimate Tinymce).

WP Edit provides over 20 additional buttons not found in a default installation of WordPress. Additionally, there are over 30 other options which control various aspects of the editor. I simply don’t understand how everyone keeps saying “it’s not worth it”. IT’S FREE!

Yes, Pro extends on this functionality… but the free version is still VERY powerful.

Well.. thanks for your review. I do appreciate your time 🙂
