    Hi there

I have a good web site with a PR of 2 that has some good rankings on google. I need to change it over to a WP site and change my hosting company too, as I have a "build your own site" which is really limited, and want to change to WP which will allow me to do more.

My concern is, if I build a new WP site with exactly the same content, and shift the site to the new host, will this kill my rankings and PR?

I dont want my PR or web rankings to go down, so is there a way of doing this without these being effected?

    thanks

    Nathan

If you make a change like that it will affect your rankings in the short term. After a few weeks, or maybe months depending on how well you go, you'll be back to where you were, and probably better off.

The think that you need to do is to ensure that every one of your old page URL's are set up as a 301-redirect to the new page on the site. If you do that the process will be a lot faster then it would be if you just let the bots do their own indexing.
