Does it work with a site that already has Disqus?

    I’ve a website that already has Disqus, except for the portion of the site that is run on WordPress, which has always used the default commenting system. Ideally I’d like Disqus for WordPress to recognize that it’s on the same domain. Will it? Or will it treat the comments made on the WordPress system to be separate?

    Bit concerned that so many of the earlier questions were unanswered.

    The answer is yes. The key is to export the WordPress posts—pro tip, do it in chunks. Disqus has an import and provided the username for the main site and the WordPress section are the same (Disqus gives you the opportunity to merge them), they will integrate properly.

    Disqus has a pretty good FAQ at its own website.
