Does Google Crawl WordPress Hosted?

Hi,

I am brand new to WordPress as I usually use other platforms and I am finding EXTREMELY difficult to navigate. I am trying it out and have not downloaded but used the WordPress hosted version of a blog site, chose a theme etc. My question is will Google crawl a site that ends in .wordpress.com? I submitted the site directly to Google a few days ago but when I checked, it didn’t look as though it was picked up yet.
