Configure SMTP
Does [PLUGIN: Configure SMTP] work with WP 3.4.1? (3 posts)

Just installed another plugin which isn't working correctly because it won't send out the required emails. The support for this other plugin recommends solving this particular problem by installing and correctly configuring your Configure SMTP plugin. This made sense to me so I visited my WP (3.4.1.) dashboard to install your Configure SMTP plugin. Doing so immediately gave me this WARNING message, "WARNING: This plugin has not been tested with your current version of WordPress." Does anyone know if Configure SMTP works with WP 3.4.1? Anyone have both of these installed? Anyone try it and find it doesn't work?

    Hey breed,

I would say no. I just tried this plugin and I ended up with a "553 5.7.1 Sender address rejected: not owned by user user@domain.com" error. I went through support with my hosting provider, brinkster.com, and they even said all of my credentials were right and that it might be the plugin. However, I was able to send a successful email using this plugin, so I recommend trying this one instead :

Also, this page is useful for demystifying SMTP errors if it helps anyone. I was fooled by the relaying error, it meant that I needed to enable email authentication.

It's working fine for me on 3.4.2 using a Gmail account.
