[resolved] Does Automatic Upgrading Overwrite The Theme Files? (3 posts)

I did an automatic upgrade to 3.0.2 and afterwards found that the links I had added to the theme header for scripts and css files were longer in the file.

This implies that during the upgrade process the theme files are overwritten/reinstalled, is that correct behavior?

This suggests that if you have "tinkered" with the theme files you always need to make a manual upgrade, is that correct?

    Thanks

Yes - the default Twenty Ten theme files are often overwritten during an upgrade. For this reason, it is recommended that you consider creating a child theme for your customisations.
