Add a new attribute to your style.css: http://www.susierichards.com/wp-content/themes/modularity-lite/style.css
Look for this:
.content h2 {
font-family: Georgia, serif;
}
and replace it with this: Add the desired font size.
.content h2 {
font-family: Georgia, serif;
font-size:30px;
}
In regards to the black box around page links and link size, I believe you’re talking about the nav menu.
Also on your style.css find the folowing code:
#top div.main-nav {
background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #000000;
display: block;
float: right;
font-size: 10px;
font-weight: bold;
margin: 18px 0 0;
padding: 4px 0;
text-align: left;
}
and replace it with this:
#top div.main-nav {
background: none;
display: block;
float: right;
font-size: 14px;
font-weight: bold;
margin: 18px 0 0;
padding: 4px 0;
text-align: left;

Thanks for responding and offering help. I’m not having much luck with this theme…I made the changes you suggested above to style.css in the child theme but nothing happened. I thought this might be because when I copied style.css to the child theme I renamed it stylechild.css, so I had style.css and stylechild.css in the folder.
So, I created just one style.css in the child theme. Since then, I cannot see Modularity Child as a theme in WordPress, but I can see it when I log in to FTP. I’m not quite sure what has happened. When I create a new Modularity Child theme, it says it already exists, but I just can’t see it listed in WP! I’ve tried deleting both child and parent theme, and re installing, but it still doesn’t recognise the child theme.
I have since made your suggested changes directly in the parent theme (I know you are not supposed to do this, but I wanted to test), but it didn’t make the changes to the font size/black box.
I’m going a little crazy here, what am I doing wrong???!!!
I had started building my site in twenty eleven but couldn’t move the nav bar with page links up in line with the logo and to the right(as per the links in Modularity Lite). Could you please offer me some advice, should I just stay with twenty eleven and hope someone can advise how to move the page links (I did post on the forum but noone responded) OR try and get Modularity lite to work?
Sorry to have gone on a little bit but I’m really struggling here to get my site going.

SRCreative – I was having similar issues. I discovered a lot of work arounds like the one you have above except mine was:
.container, .container h1{
font-family: ‘Russo One’, sans-serif;
}
However, I’ve since backed almost all of them out of my style.css file. The reason is that the way this theme appears to be built is very tricky. What you would expect to find in the style.css file is actually in the screen.css file. When I started implementing several layers of changes in my style.css file like the one above, I ran into many problems as the various components are all linked together.
The screen.css file for Modularity Lite is buried in Modularity Lite / Library / Styles. That is apparently where all the true css commands live.
What I am trying to figure out is whether or not I need to make a screen.css file in my child with the same file structure? I think I am going to end up making a copy of screen.css and then writing over the existing file in the Modularity Lite folder.
I’m really liking the general look of this theme but boy is it difficult to work with!

Thanks for your response and direction to screen.css. I’ve found the file tucked away. I’m really not sure whether you have to copy the whole file structure or not. I’ve copied just the file screen.css across to my child theme and made changes but nothing happened, but I could well be not changing the right code! I’d like to change my site title to a logo so am going to leave it as is for now.
Since you are using the same fantastic theme, do you know how to replace the title with a logo?

I just saw this, sorry. I just created a header image with the logos I wanted and deleted the header. This site is for a one time event and my labor was free so I wasn’t able to spend a ton of time on it but I think it achieves the purpose.
