Here is a short list a main features : http://www.webinventif.fr/wordpress-251-et-26/ (in french but with links to the trac)...
Hop :).
LOL, the French site actually stole the features list from a blog post of mine. You can find the original post here:
Since then my post has also been updated with info on Identicons and Google Gears support.
And:
wp-ajax.js will be dropped
and jquery gets an update
it comes so slow...
@JohnLamansky -- is it posted somewhere that doesn't require joining some community to read?
@jabecker -- I think you're referring to a rendering problem under IE 7 (which caused the entire page to seem to disappear [ugh!]) that a reader just informed me about today; it's fixed now.
The underlining that indicates a misspelling is replaced by a little gnome that appears on screen and screams at you, "Who taught you to spell, a chimpanzee?!"
When is 2.5.2 coming out?
2.5.2 has no date set. It may not be released as 2.5.2.
2.6 is scheduled for the week of July 7-14th.
I've been running 2.6 bleeding for a while now. It's nice.
-The Gears support rocks.
-I don't like XMLRPC and APP being disabled by default.
-Admin-SSL support is nice for the super paranoid people out there.
I just upgraded to 2.6 beta. I hear all this hype about being able to move wp-admin.php to a folder, yet no one seems to give instructions how to do so...so how would one do that?

What hype are you describing? I've read nothing along these lines.
So then it's a LIE? We cannot move wp-admin.php??
Well, there is no "wp-admin.php" in WordPress, so I really don't know what exactly you're talking about.
What did you actually read? What are you wanting to do?
In 2.6, you can move the wp-config.php file one directory below the main one now, thanks to the new wp-load.php file... Is that what you're talking about?
same bloody thing. That's precisely what I was talking about, and I suspect that you knew it too, hence the equally snarky response.
How in the world do we activate this new service?
1. Not the same thing at all, as I actually suspected that you were talking about the wp-admin directory.
2. I wasn't being snarky. I was actually being confused about WTF you were talking about.
3. There's no "activation", just move the wp-config.php file up one directory. WordPress 2.6 looks in the WP root dir and one dir up for it as well.

Otto42, you mention that xmlrpc is disabled by default which is exactly what problem I'm running into. How does one enable xmlrpc in WP 2.6?
