Does 2.6 help reducing cpu usuage?

    I am planning on using the new version 2.6 of wordpress.
    I want to know if 2.6 cause more cpu usuage , my site will get around 1k to 5k uniques per day, what are your opinions how much cpu will be required?

    do older versions eat mroe cpu then the new one?
