Document / File Manger Plugin or Theme

Hello!

We are seeking a plugin or theme that is the equivalent to Joomla’s DocMan plugin?

The website we are looking to produce is 90% about “Document File Upload” – so the default media gallery is not what we need.

What we are looking for is a program that created organized lists of these file for download, as well as categorizing and access control of various file formats (in my case PDF, TIF, DWG, JEPG, EPS, DOC).

We have located the “Wp-File Manager Plugin” that used to be similar to this, but it appears to no longer be in development and possibly not as advanced as we need?

We would like to integrate this plugin with WordPress MU so that “Profile Account Users” can upload and manage files.

This may not be available or even exist, but we’d appreciate any info or suggestions.
