    Here’s a further clarification:
I have a website (www.trustworthycare.com) that has existed for a long time. Until this morning it worked fine. Yesterday I took an update to the plugin called BackWPUp, updating from version 2.1.7 to 3.0.3. Prior to taking the update, the plugin worked fine and the website worked fine.

I took the update and allowed the scheduled backups and database operations to run overnight.

This morning the website no longer displays the images that it needs. The rest of the theme works (colors, layout, etc) but the images are broken. If I look in the WP dashboard Media tab, it shows most of the images (but not all) as broken (i.e., a little icon displays in place of the image).

When I FTP to the site and the media folder, the image files are all still present and all seem to be intact. They just don’t display in the Media tab nor on the site, anymore.

Can anyone suggest how I can recover from this. I don’t know for certain that BackWPUp caused this, I just know that nothing else changed. I do have a backup from a day or two ago, and I can restore from that if I have to.

    Thanks,

    – Tim

Your WordPress site is hosted on Hostgator, and they perform a full backup once a week, but on random days. Therefore it is imperative to request a full restore from a backup previous of your problem. I would not delay, because they do not keep multiple backups, and will overwrite with your current situation without notice.
