    Hi all,

I just wanted to add a high priority note/reminder to NOT uninstall NextGEN Gallery 2.0 if you are having problems. If you formally uninstall the plugin, it deletes all data, including your galleries.

If you are having issues with 2.0 and want to roll back to the previous version (1.9.13), here are some step by step instructions for doing so safely:

    http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/how-to-rollback-a-version/

As noted in the other sticky post at the top of this forum, if you are having major issues, we’d also love to hear about them so we can resolve them, so consider posting a new thread or looking for one on the same issue.

  • I can’t access my site via FTP and need to go back a version because 2.0 has totally screwed up the look of my site and the new features don’t allow me to just display my images in a set area like the old version did. I just want to show my images with thumbnails and no image name or other text on the screen and to have both vertical and horizontal images displayed without the screen changing.

Hello i am having problem with the next-gen gallery.
I installed the new version 2.0 and i tryed to resize 3 images.
After this operation for all the single image in all galleries the app can’t get the right size. Infact, each image in each gallery show as size ” KxK ” instead of the previous “800×534”.
Now in all the posts where i put the short code [singlepic id=XXX] i get this warning

Warning: Division by zero in /htdocs/public/www/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_basic_singlepic/templates/nextgen_basic_singlepic.php on line 13

What can i do? Here is my conf

Here also the same problem, I have to roll back also to 1.9.13, because my dropdown menu don’t work anymore, maybe a problem with the jQuery version.
With the roll back de site is working again.

version 2.0 is working surprisingly well for me. but i have some minor bugs i like to report πŸ™‚

1.if you go to this page you can see the preview image is missing of the album, i checked it is there(even updated it).
2.when you enter the second page and up of the gallery from the album that the image was missing on it doesnt show the images but only a message:no images were found
    3.when i load the nextgen in pages(nextgen gallery-attach to post) it’s blank(white only).

if i find other bugs or problem i will report them(if they are causing problems) im also going to test it later on a mobile.
i hope that version 2.0 will be fixed because it works so well…when it works πŸ™‚ cheers~!

oop….i just saw the reply from photocrati(becky) from yesterday, sorry about that πŸ™‚ i’ll report bugs on http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/…sorry :S

Beta testing should have resolved these extreme bugs before release, but as much as I loved this plugin, updating has wreaked havoc on my sites; unnecessarily. I had columns before and could have comments about each mock up image. Now the columns are shot and the ability to display comments are gone and it’s not even possible to upload new images any more. All in one “update.” Are there any fixes coming relatively soon or patches?

Version 2.0.0 caused blank screen to my site AND dashboard.
I successfully rolled back to 1.9.13 via FTP client according to this instructions: http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/how-to-rollback-a-version/
Although I wasn’t able to deactivate NextGEN Gallery on backend previously (as the guidance recommends), the overwriting of the files in the nextgen-gallery folder via FTP worked fine.
By all accounts: nothing was affected by the excursion to this harakiri-update except my time and my precaution in future.

I sincerely appreciate the ability and directions to reinstall the down level version of NextGEN Gallery. For some reason the 2.0 version was blocking all of my site links and sending everything back to my landing page. And this on the Twenty Ten Theme.

I am awaiting the fixes for this bug. I have updated my blog to WP 3.6, but hesitate to add NextGEN 2.0 unless I can get some sort of notification that this bug has been fixed.

I really like the new Uploader format, but it didn’t really work for some reason. I noticed that the Uploader was uploading the photos, but there were no thumbnails or photos visible in the gallery…only the file names. I saw the files on my FTP site, so I know they got up there.

    Anxiously awaiting updates.

Well at least there is an easy enough fix for the issue. I re-uploaded the previous version and it fixed the issue. Thanks for that at least!

@gerhard: Most cases we’ve seen of that have been plugin updates. Can you tell us if you have BBPress, Magic Fields, Manage Member, AMember, or Real Estate interfaces installed?

@affordablewebsitesdenvercom: An update will probably go out next week, and you can try the latest beta available at the link below. There’s a list of what’s fixed. If you are still having issues, since they’re diverse, we’d love to get login credentials to a problem site so we can trouble shoot each issue. If you are up for that, you can submit credentials (WP and FTP) via our bug report form. Finally, if you just want to fix things and wait a few updates for greater stability, you can roll back safely to 1.9.13. Here are all the links:

    Thanks.

@photocrati: I have non of it but a lot of other Plugins (83 active).
WP 3.5.2 Theme: Atahualpa 3.7.12 (from BytesForAll)
I’ll wait for your next Version and then test again.

prettyPhoto Media not working after update and NextGEN Gallery geo. When i try to see the pictures in lightbox it redirect me to picture. Rolling back :/

    Hi.
I lost the NextGen Gallery from a client’s website homepage as a result of upgrading. It was replaced by a white box. I also got a blank screen when I went to ‘Add Gallery/Images’ and ‘Gallery Settings’. Problem on MacOS 10.5.8 all browsers and iPhone 4. Don’t know about PC. Let me know if you need any info on servers. I’m using Pagelins theme and I have no other plugins installed.

Followed instructions on downloading older version above. Backed-up site. Limited permissions but got it eventually by renaming the NextGen folder on server (i.e the troublesome upgrade). I uploaded the older version by ftp… and it worked. It was not possible to add constituent files and folders one-by-one or to replace the existing folder directly. As mentioned, I had to rename the existing one.

    [See site at: http://www.paulkerr.ie ]

I lost a day’s work but learned some valuable (and probably obvious) lessons:
    1. Read the info and the forums before upgrading any plugin – probably not best therefore for non-tecchies like me to be the first to upgrade!
    2. Back up everything.
    3. Send a disclaimer to clients about plug-ins.
    4. Don’t be too hard on the software makers… it is free after all.
    Regards,
    Pearse.

@gerhard Lichtenauer – Understood. When you do update again, please let us know how it works for you.

@airflame – Thank you for letting us know the conflicting plugins. It may be that the next update will resolve those conflicts. Let us know how things work for you with the next version (v2.1 or v2.2). We’re resolving some issues with similar plugins so it’s likely we hope, the next update will work better for you.

    Best,
    -Becky

Is it me or does it appear that that nextgen does not work with WordPress Version 3.6??

On the page displaying a gallery I get:

    array(1) { [“display_type”]=> array(1) { [0]=> string(20) “Invalid display type” } }

above the text on the page and no gallery images.

Also – beware of upgrading wordpress to 3.6 before updating nextgen to v2 as it falls off of the dashboard!
