Like the subject says. It would be awesome to have a version of WordPress that does not mangle html and javascript. If I type it in the text box then it should stay exactly as I type it.

Can you be a little more specific. In what way does WordPress "mangle " HTML & CSS?

  3. You should never be posting javascript inside posts, actually, that's just a security nightmare.

If you MUST, then use the text editor (not the visual one).

Not a security "nightmare". Such sensationalism. You must remember that a large part of WordPress installs are used as a single admin CMS and not a blogging platform.

Again we come back to the lack of permissions and roles functionality in the wordpress core.

I would rather code a site from scratch and leave wordpress out of it altogether, however that is not my employers choice. So being forced to use wordpress as a CMS (without customisation), I would like it to work like one and to stop mangling my code.

Not sensationalism, experience. After years of supporting the majority of WP users (aka: non admins) I promise you it's a fast track to people being absolutely reckless. You and I can do it wisely. The rest of 'em? Well. No. Heck, on Multisite, we lock that stuff down so you can't even use iframes unless you're the super admin.

You must remember that a large part of WordPress installs are maintained by non-technical people, and it's on us to protect them. That's why we made shortcodes and the like.
